It’s Guerilla, Not Gorilla!

As marketers, we strive to use our imagination in everything we do. Sometimes, conventional methods of advertising (and pressures from upper management) limit our creativity. This is why guerilla marketing is one of our favorite advertising strategies.

*Fun Fact: In 1984, the term ‘Guerrilla Marketing’ was introduced by Jay Conrad Levinson in his book ‘Guerrilla Advertising’. The term itself was from the inspiration of guerrilla warfare which was unconventional warfare using different techniques from usual and small tactic strategies used by armed civilians.

Guerilla Marketing

Guerilla Marketing is defined as an advertising strategy concept designed for businesses to advertise their product or services in an unconventional way. It requires high energy, lots of creativity, and a constant focus on grasping the attention of the public in a personal and memorable way.

So where is guerilla marketing more prominent? The streets, of course, where people are roaming about and are perfect subjects to a fun advertisement. It’s all about catching attention and getting people talking. Here are some of our favorites:
