Formed in the 1980s to create products for the pipe and metal industries, Scan Systems™ has grown from its early days of manufacturing OCTG pipe inspection equipment to offering a large array of products and services. Our team members include executives from the pipe inspection industry, engineers from all disciplines specializing in non-destructive testing, software designers with pipe management experience, and manufacturing technicians who have years of extensive experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
We continually strive to establish and maintain honest, sincere, and dependable long-term relationships with our customers. Today, we’re still serving customers with whom we developed relationships more than 25 years ago. Because of these relationships, we continue to take a personal interest in each customer’s business.
EMI Inspection Equipment
PITCO™ manufactures and markets 4 independent pipe inspection systems (longitudinal, transverse, wall measuring, and grade comparison), each in a stand-alone modular design for steel mills and third party pipe inspection companies. Customers enjoy the flexibility to mix and match the specific systems for their individual application. Once our customers have determined the types of inspections their application will require, we combine the various inspection systems into a single integrated unit to achieve economies of scale, while passing the savings along, producing extremely high value products for our clients. Our 4-function inspection systems have the capability to perform the following inspection:
• Longitudinal Inspection System
• Magnetic Wall Monitoring Inspection System
• Transverse Inspection System
• Grade Difference Comparison
At the heart of all our Digi-Techtm family of products is our proprietary Digital Signal Processing electronics and software, Digi-Protm. Originally developed by our software engineers back in 1997, and over the years, Digi-Protm features and capabilities have been refined and expanded to become the cornerstone technology for our Digi-Techtm product line.
Digi-Protm is truly a revolutionary software product. Through a collaborative effort of PITCO technicians, engineers, managers, software designers, and customer feedback we have developed the most cost effective and user-friendly Digital Signal Processing System available to the pipe inspection industry – bar none!
Our ESP upgrade has technologies developed to determine not only the linear location of a longitudinal flaw, but also to determine the circumferential location. These technologies will not only inform the operator of a flaw located at 18 inches from the end of the joint, but will provide them with actual degree from 0 to 360 indicating the circumferential location of the flaw. In addition, multiple flaws around the same circumference of the pipe are also identified through this methodology.
• Detect and Repeat on Oblique Flaws- 30° OD and 20° ID
• Accurate and Repeatable ID/OD Discrimination
• Auto Calibration for Longitudinal System (available on both ESP and Standard M-Series)
• Detect and Repeat on Smaller Flaws in ‘noisy’ Pipe
• Identify the Circumferential Location of Flaw
At PITCO™ we like to think of ourselves as partners with our customers. We know how difficult the pipe inspection business really is and that’s why we’re constantly improving our products, practices, and abilities in order to help our customers maintain that competitive edge with their equipment.
Our management works closely with our customers to provide preventative maintenance schedules and honest evaluations of your existing equipment. Even when your equipment is reaching the end of its useful life, we will never be guilty of misleading or pressuring you into a sale when there is still any life left in your existing equipment.
PITCO™ is committed to our customer’s success. We are a part of your team! And when you or our technicians need parts and supplies to keep your equipment in top operating condition, its just a matter of going to the shelf and getting it.
PITCO™ maintains one of the largest inventories of quality parts and supplies in the industry. With over a million dollars of parts, equipment, and inventory on our shelves, the odds of us not having what you need, when you need it are slim.
Maintaining this type of inventory is expensive, but our customers depend on us. And because they do, we are committed to doing all we can to ensure they will have the absolute minimum amount of downtime possible when they call.
